Meet Us!

How much will it cost?

In the event that you choose to use us to facilitate your International pet relocation, we welcome the opportunity to give you an estimate for our services.

Due to the location of our facility and the avoidance of the middlemen in expediting the process, we feel we can offer you a very fair price while still ensuring the most cost effective direct flights and the safety of your pet.

If you are interested in employing us simply for the LAX transfer, we will gladly accommodate you, but we cannot take responsibility for faulty paperwork, problems or delays that may ensue.

To get the smoothest transition and to keep shipping your pet from being costly, the most important thing you can do is PLAN AHEAD. The actual quarantine period for a dog entering Australia or New Zealand from the US is currently six months, or according to the AQIS website, “a minimum of 180 days from the date of their satisfactory rabies test to the date of release from quarantine.” However, you are able to reduce the time spent in quarantine to a minimum of 30 days by having a blood sample drawn for the rabies TITRE test 5 months prior to departure. So, if time is of the essence it might be a good idea to plan ahead to reduce the time and cost of quarantine.

Quarantine

The Animal quarantine branch has the mission of preventing the entry of rabies into its Country. With very few exceptions, like traveling domestically or the Direct Release option for transporting pets to Hawaii, your pet will most likely have to be quarantined upon arrival.

Quarantine can be anywhere from 5 to 160 days depending on the State and or Country. This is a service we will take care of for you, for there are designated facilities that are certified. While in quarantine, you will be charged daily which runs about $35 per day depending on the facility. This charge will be included in your proposal.

While in quarantine, depending on the Country, you will be able to visit your pet at designated times and days. Each quarantine facility has its own rules for visitation and we will inform you once your pet’s travel is booked.

The safety of your pet

The use of sedatives – We feel that a potential danger to your pet is the use and administration of sedatives while your pet is in transit. We will no engage you as a client if you or your Veterinarian insists that sedatives would be a danger to your pet.

We do administer prescribed sedatives to dogs staying at our kennel but, they our under our constant supervision.

Most Dogs cope very well with air travel, the owners are often amazed to see how happy their dog is upon arrival to their new home. To keep your pet comfortable from day 1, try to stick to your normal routine, remain upbeat. Remember, pets take on your emotions so it is important to remain as calm as possible when departing with your pet to avoid causing your pet to have unnecessary anxiety.

Helping your pet adapt to his or her kennel plays an important part in their traveling experience. If possible, let your dog become accustomed to its crate. Putting a special toy or treat can be a good way of helping the pet associate the crate with good things. Make the crate comfortable but do not close the gate just yet. Wait until your pet seems perfectly calm while inside. This may take days or even weeks but if all goes well the crate could become your pet’s new comfort zone!

Shipping to Australia or New Zealand?

We specialize in transports to Australia and New Zealand. These are the two most detail oriented countries and require more involved import documentation, lab testing requirements as well as a mandatory quarantine upon your pets arrival.

When it comes to shipping to AU or NZ, the location of the boarding facility is very important because there will most likely be a stop over and transfer to LAX. Therefore, in addition to the import/export and health documentation, you or your shipper will need the services of a company that will help you with the following:

  1. Picking up your pet from LAX Cargo.
  2. Board your pet overnight or possibly longer.
  3. Visit the USDA Office before the A.M cut off time to receive a stamped endorsement.
  4. Make a trip back to the USDA in the evening with your pet in a proper kennel.
  5. Deliver the pet back to Cargo to complete minor paperwork.

For AU or NZ bound pets, there will be an additional mandatory scanning by the USDA of the implanted microchip in addition to the above.

There are certain destinations that have involved import documentation and health documentation (Including vaccination and lab testing requirements) as well as mandatory quarantine. The most frequented are:

Australia                   Hong Kong                United Kingdom                  New Zealand
Singapore                 American Samoa     Hawaii                                   South Africa
Guam

Many of these requirements are extremely time sensitive. Thus, mistakes can lead to delays and delays can result in the need for re-testing which can be expensive and burdensome to the owner and of course the pet.
